Abstract


Li Cheng was a landscape painting master, he was famous for painting spacious woods under the cold weather through superb pen and ink techniques. GuoXi’s art achievements was the most significant in lots of disciples of LiCheng. Although he mainly learned from LiCheng, he also liked painting with his own personality. In his paintings, compositions have also been created and developed. His paintings of big vertical type have overpowering overwhelming and varied realm, especially loved and praised by people. In addition, GuoXi also wrote a book which arranged by his son called the Elegance of Bamboo and Spring. The book has made great contribution to the summary of the Chinese landscape painting theory. Sometimes GuoXi’s achievements is believed by some art critics beyond LiCheng’s. So, due to his outstanding art achievements, the name of GuoXi belongs with that of LiCheng, they two are simply called by“Li Guo”in Chinese painting history .Relevant research on" Li Guo " landscape painting style mainly focus on Licheng and Guoxi’s case study. Although case study on other painters who inherited from“Li Guo”style have made certain achievement, researchers is few, the scale studied is limited. So it is necessary to have further research on this aspect. This text wrote for the original intention of probing into these following questions:Which painters were influenced by the“LiGuo”style in later age? What changes had taken place in their works compare with typical“Li Guo”style? In different historical stages, its influence was different, what was the specific reasons of the style’s properity and decline? Case study on the style from inheritance perspective has not seen, so it has certain research meanings.This thesis is on the basis of previous studies, focuses on analysis and discussion on concrete historical fact of“LiGuo”landscape style’s inheritance and the concrete reasons of the style’s prosperity and decline by documentation science, image style analysis and cultural sociology, in order to have a good macro-grasp on the development trails of the style and a good micro-grasp on the concrete reasons of developments and changes of the style , so as to make the research on“Li Guo”landscape painting style more comprehensive, deeper and more perfect.
