Abstract


As one of the major film origins in the world, Hong Kong’s movies has unique research value in the films quantity and colonial cultural background.Stanley Kwan, as one of Hong Kong art film director, has an extraordinary way to outline the changeable human nature through a reversed sexual role with the space-time idea and female personal mental experience, so as to reveal the complex feelings of the female.From his female films to his gay films, it fully embodied the character and the growing course of the director himself.Innovation of this paper is the study of Stanley Kwan Film’Male role ,and it systematically explored male role in the growth of the history of Stanley Kwan Film,and let us reconsider that the relationship and status between man and women. It had been not systematically studied and researched before others studied.This is the starting point of this article, also.This paper will discuss it from six aspects.First of all, in the point of the male images of mainstream movie mode,it takes Stanley Kwan Film as the point of reference.Secondly, author will explore the background of Stanley Kwan, and find his spirit source of movies.Thirdly, throngh carding and analyzing the the male images of Stanley Kwan female films , author will reconsider that the relationship and status between man and women Fourthly, author will analyze a Gay Trilogy, researching BL Gay love mode and expression in the mainstream culture system.Fifthly,author will systematically display Stanley Kwan’s films aesthetic characteristics of homosexual plot.Finaliy, author will explore Stanley Kwan’s creative trajectory and the pursuit of life by analyzing and summarizing male images of his two creative period.Throughout decade of Stanley Kwan films, from female subjects to the homosexual subject transition, the expression of homosexual has been run through. The changing male image in Stanley Kwan’s films,showed his exploration to gender relations and love mode ,also revealed his own gender identity trajectory .This is a distortion, evasion, repression, natural, gradual and less hindered the process of becoming more healthy.
