Objective:To obtain the status of chroma in maxillary incisors of the undergraduates in Urumqi, compare the difference between nations, compare the difference between maxillary anteriors(central incisor lateral incisor caine), compare the difference between three regions (cervical、middle、incisal).Methods:A survey was carried out in Uygur han college studets about the chroma of maxillary anterior in Xinjiang with the method of random、stratified、cluster sampling.Used digital camera in studio environment(D65 standard illuminant).Photographs were taken under a set exposure parameters(AE f/2.8,1/45s,ISO 100)and saved in RAW image file format. Based on CIE1976 Lab color system, maxillay anterior teeth consisted of 142 college students, were measured by Camera RAW for Adobe photoshop CS3 computer colorimeter and analyzed by SPSS 16.0 software in three Positions(cervieal, middle, incisal), trying to have a basie understanding of the database. Results:The chroma of three positions of incisors was different from each other (P<0.05), Uygur college students:L of middle regions are the highest,L of incisal regions are the lowest,chroma of the middle regions are the highest in central incisor and lateral incisor,from cervical regions to incisal regions chroma of the caine decrese gradually;Han college student:L of middle regions are the highest,L of incisal regions are the lowest, chroma of the middle regions are the highest in central incisor, chroma of incisal regions are the lowest in central incisor, chroma of the cervial regions are the highest in lateral incisor, chroma of middle regions are the lowest in lateral incisor, from cervical regions to incisal regions chroma of the caine decrease gradually. Uygur college students:The chroma of tooth position of incisors was different (P<0.05),from central incisor to canine,L increase gradually,chroma decrease gradually; Han college student:.There is no significant difference on the values of L, a, b between central incisor and lateral incisor (P>0.05),L of canine is lower than central incisor and lateral incisor (P<0.05), chroma of canine is higher than central incisor and lateral incisor; There is obvious difference on the values of L, a,b between nations(P<0.05). Conclusion:There is obvious difference on the values of L,a,b between nations,but we still don’t have enough evidence to proof the realitive about genetics,it may realitive to living environment or lifestyles, it may realitive to the development of tooth or calcification,it also may not have enough sanple size,lead to offset.
