Abstract


From inception in 1789 , the Supreme Court of the United States has just gone through a nearly 220 -year history . The beginning of the establishment of the Federal Supreme Court has no authority. Marbury v. Madison in 1803 to become a crucial turning point in the history of the development of the Federal Supreme Court . The case not only for the Supreme Court to win the most important weapon to check the other two branches of power - judicial review powers , and also earned the prestige and reputation . With this sword , the Supreme Court from a marginal sector gradually grown into an important role in the pattern of the three powers . This paper attempts to put to the Federal Supreme Court examined the entire U.S. political process , and depending on their attention and influence the political sphere , they play political summarized to defend constitutional democracy , regulate the exercise of power , perfect decentralization model to resolve the political crisis , and to ensure fair justice . This article is divided into a total of three parts , the first part of the history of the Supreme Court in the political arena visits ; second part summarizes the five concrete manifestation of the Supreme Court of the political function ; final part reveals the political function of the Federal Supreme Court by constraints. Finally , in the conclusion of this article , the author through the debate about judicial activism and restraint , of how the Supreme Court is better able to exercise their political function thinking .
