Abstract

Objective: To investigate the caries activity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients after radiotherapy . Quantitative analysis of saliva before and after radiotherapy in patients calcium and phosphorus content and its changes , and healthy volunteers as controls to investigate the effect of radiotherapy on the calcium and phosphorus content in the saliva of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma , radiation caries prevention and etiology The study provides a theoretical basis . Methods : 20 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in 28 patients and healthy volunteers . The resazurin paper assay Radiotherapy caries activity after radiotherapy 70Gy , flame atomic absorption spectrometry and molybdenum, antimony anti- spectrophotometric determination of non-stimulated before radiotherapy 70Gy Radiotherapy and healthy volunteers calcium and phosphorus content in saliva . Results: ① resazurin paper method Radiotherapy 70Gy caries activity increase ( P lt; 0.01 ) . The ② radiotherapy in patients before the calcium content of saliva to 63.19mg / l, the calcium content of saliva radiotherapy 70Gy to 33.38mg / l . After statistical analysis , the calcium content of the saliva before radiotherapy , after radiotherapy 70Gy difference was statistically significant ( P lt; 0.01 ) . Radiotherapy before the phosphorus content of saliva 132.96mg / l, the saliva after radiotherapy 70Gy phosphorus content of 49.18mg / l, statistical analysis before radiotherapy , after radiotherapy 70Gy saliva phosphorus content of the difference was statistically significant ( P lt; 0.01). Male and female patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma before radiotherapy , after radiotherapy 70Gy saliva calcium, phosphorus content of the difference was not statistically significant (P gt; 0.05). Male and female NPC patients before radiotherapy , after radiotherapy 70Gy saliva calcium and phosphorus content difference difference was not statistically significant (P gt; 0.05). Stage Ⅲ , Ⅳ a nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients before radiotherapy , after radiotherapy 70Gy differences in calcium and phosphorus content of saliva without statistical significance ( P gt ; 0.05) . Stage Ⅲ , Ⅳ a nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients before radiotherapy , after radiotherapy 70Gy saliva calcium and phosphorus content difference difference was not statistically significant (P gt; 0.05). Conclusions : ( 1 ) radiotherapy 70Gy increased caries activity in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma . The decrease in calcium and phosphorus content of saliva after ② radiotherapy 70Gy . NPC patients before radiotherapy , after radiotherapy 70Gy saliva calcium and phosphorus content change gender and clinical stage no significant relationship .
