Abstract


Listening comprehension is one of the basic skills of language use , both in everyday life or in language learning , plays an extremely important role . In junior high school English teaching, listening teaching occupies a very important position. English listening comprehension improve the overall improvement of students' English proficiency has a vital role . Moreover , the hearing test is also in the exam, college entrance exams and other large English compulsory content. This thesis aims to explore and study how to use listening strategies to guide the junior high school English listening teaching in order to improve middle school students' listening comprehension. In this thesis, research methods , mainly O'Mally and Chamot advocated three strategies ( metacognitive strategies, cognitive strategies , and social / affective strategies ) as the theoretical basis for the teaching experiments and research . On the attitude of students to use listening strategies , the use of listening strategies as well as the effect of the use of listening strategies guide teachers teaching situation were discussed, experiments and research main conclusions are: ( 1 ) junior high school students' listening strategies although little is known and for most policy seldom used , but they can really use some strategies to help improve listening comprehension ; ( 2 ) use of hearing students with different levels of listening strategies there is a big difference in the frequency and listening strategies students use frequency of their listening comprehension have a significant impact on test scores . In this experiment and research on the basis of papers on how to use listening strategies to guide the junior high school English listening teaching made ??a further study , from the meta- cognition, cognitive and social / emotional and other three angles , made ??a number of improvements aimed at secondary school English listening teaching suggestions. For example, in everyday listening classroom teaching, teachers should strengthen guidance for students learning strategies should focus on the use of listening strategies to guide classroom instruction , etc., in order to cultivate and improve students' English listening comprehension , and promote school English listening teaching .
