Influence of Cold Ischemia Time on Prognosis of Patients Who Did Liver Transplantation

Abstract


OBJECTIVE:To research the influence of cold ischemia time on prognosis of patients who did liver transplantation.METHOD:Retrospective analysed the 163 patients who did liver transplantations in our center in 2005.1 to 2008.3. Divide them into 3 groups according to the cold ischemia time. Group A:CIT≤8h, group B:8h<CIT<12h, group C:CIT≥12h. Considered the highest level of their Alanine aminotransferase (ALT).Aspartate aminotransferase (AST),Total bilirubin(TB),and the days they decreased to normal. And also considered their biliary complications,vascular complications, acute rejections and survival rates of 1,2,3 years after transplantation.RESULT:The peak of ALT (898.97±708.98) U/L and AST (1243.0±1015.9)U/L of group B is higher than the peak of ALT (510.49±283.09) U/L (p=0.001) and AST (746.95±527.36)U/L(p=0.005)of group A significantly. The biliary complications of group B and group C are significantly high than group A(p=0.036, p=0.011), the vascular complications of group C are significantly high than group B (p=0.029). The days the liver function decreased to normal and survival rates of 1,2,3 years after transplantation of the three group are not significant differently.CONCLUSION:The prolonged time of cold ischemia will influence the patients’ liver functions and their biliary complications and vascular complications after transplantation, but it will not lead the significant different of their long-term survival rates.
