Abstract

In the recent years, the traditional transport network is getting harder and harder to deal with the packet services growing exponentially. The T-MPLS (Transport Multi-Protocol Label Switching) technology is a hot research spot in recent years, and also one of the ways in which the transport technologies will develop in the future. By analyzing the construction principles of T-MPLS networks, which are based on MPLS networks and together with the introduction of the pseudo wire technologies, the differences of the two networks are compared. These differences cause the difference between OAM demands. By carefully comparing the relating recommendations, it is analyzed that how the T-MPLS enhanced and expanded the original OAM functions of MPLS. Then the nesting process that characterizes T-MPLS OAM functions is discussed.According to the concerning documents, the packets studied include CV packet, FDI packet, 1DM packet, DMM & DMR packet, and LBM & LBR packet. By studying the concerning documents, the algorithms to implement the functions in the simulation are put forward. After the simulation platform is built, these functions are validated and analyzed accordingly. The main achievements of this thesis are as follows:(1) The packet formats and the process flow and so forth are studied. Based on this, the simulation is implemented with OPNET modeler.(2) About the parts of the documents that need modifying, such as packet loss measurement and delay measurement, amendments and innovations are made. Then the relating analysis and study are carried out. (3)Based on the OPNET simulation platform of T-MPLS, the performance of the OAM packets are tested and analyzed, and the comments are given accordingly. At the end of this thesis, the prospect of T-MPLS technology and its future study fields are foreseen.
