Abstract


SDP(Service Discovery Protocol) is a protocol about how terminal equipment can find and access existing services in network. The protocol allows user and application to locate and use service automatically without pre-configuration. To some extent,it is not easy to complete service discovery due to the dynamic characteristics of MANET, such as node mobility, network topology frequently changes and so on. However, with the MANET network expanding in the common life,sharing MANET network resource and providing suitable MANET network service discovery protocol have become one of the main objections of research of the IETF MANET Working Group. According to the global interconnection for MANET,this paper proposes the SDPBG(Service Discovery Protocol Based on Gateway) service discovery protocol,uses NS-2 network simulator to simulate the protocol, adops 10 schemes of BenchMANET to test and utilizes gawk data-processing tool to process and analysis trace file. Comparing with three basic performance measurement metrics for the rate of overall service success discovery, the average lookup latency and the average bandwidth consumption of overall service success discovery for service discovery protocol. We can draw the conclusion that the design of the SDPBG service discovery protocol suites for the small-scale MANET network. The three basic performance measurement metrics: the rate of overall service success discovery is over 96%, the average lookup latency is within the 1.8 seconds and the average bandwidth consumption is within the 110kb when the number of scenario nodes are around 50, the percent of the number of SA are from 25% to 75% of scenario nodes.
