Abstract


Objective:The aims of this issue were to evaluated the quality of life in newly diagnosed and medical treated patients with Graves Disease and to analyze the impact of related factors(including age,gender,medical history and so on)on the healthy related quality of life in patients with Graves Disease.Methods:A total of 350 out-patients with Graves Disease were recruited randomly in this study from June 2010 to November 2010 at the department of Endocrine.All patients with Graves Disease were accordance with the basic diagnostic criteria of Graves disease with the seventh edition textbook of the internal medicine or had accepted medical treatment and had not other organic diseases,Pregnancy and psychiatric history and so on.General health evaluation was investigated and Chinese version of SF-36 health survey was carried out. All data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 software.Statistical evaluation included T-test or F-test or multiple regression analysis.Results:1.Patients with Graves Disease (overall,women,men)reported more limitations on the HRQoL indicators than the normal people,except for the indicator of body pain.2.Comparison of impacting factors among different groups:We found that Graves Disease patients with sex as independent factors among the the scores of various indicators of HRQoL did not statistically significant differences;We found that the scores of below 30 years old patients were higher than the scores of over 30 years old (including 30 years) patients,in which the eight indicators of PF,RP,PCS and total (p<0.01),BP,GH,SF and RE (p<0.05) scores were statistically significant differences;We found that the scores of the lean group (BMI<18.5kg/m2) were higher than the not lean group (BMI≥18.5kg/m2),except for the indicator of MH,only the RP indicator was statistically significant differences (p<0.01);We found that the scores of unmarried group were higher than the married group,of which PF,RP,RE,PCS and total (p<0.01) five indicators were statistically significant differences;We found that the longer Graves Disease history group,the higher of HRQoL indicators scores,of which the RE (p<0.01) indicators was statistically significant differences; We found that the scores of the people who have been treated group were higher than newly diagnosed patients group, of which the RP,PCS,MCS and total (p<0.01),PF,VT,SF,RE and MH (p<0.05);We found that the higher the family annual income group,the higher the HRQoL associated indicators scores. Patients group of>5 million family annual income and patients group of<1 million family annual income in the PF,GH,PCS and total (p<0.01),RP,RE and MH (p<0.05) seven indicators were statistically significant differences;Patients group of 1 million-5 million family annual income and patients group of<1 million family annual income in the PF,PCS and total (p<0.05) three indicators were statistically significant differences;We found that the higher the education,the higher the HRQoL associated indicators scores.Patients group of junior high school and below and patients group of college and above in the PF,RP,GH,VT,PCS,MCS and total (p<0.01) seven indicators were statistically significant differences; Patients group of junior high school and below and patients group of high school in the PF,PCS and MCS (p <0.05) three indicators were statistically significant differences.3.Correlation factor analysis showed:Advancing age is the most important factor of HRQoL associated indicators scores in patients with Graves Disease,followed by family annual income,cultural levels and BMI.Age and family annual income of female patients with Graves Disease are two important influence factors of HRQoL indicators scores;Age and cultural level of male patients with Graves Disease are two important influence factors of HRQoL indicators scores.Conclusions:1.HRQoL of Graves Disease patients(overall,women, men) are lower than that of normal population.2.Advancing age,lean,married,disease history of less than or equal1.5 years,newly diagnosed,low aunnal family income and low education level are the negative factors for the HRQoL in Graves Disease patients.
