Objective: To investigate the relationship between metabolic syndrome and acute pancreatitis , and the relationship between the prognosis of acute pancreatitis , and further study of the metabolic syndrome in predicting the pancreatic disease severity , incidence of complications and prognosis of acute pancreatitis in the sense . Methods: AP clinical diagnostic criteria in accordance with the 1996 Chinese Medical Association Society of Surgery and in 2004 the Chinese Diabetes Society ( CDS ) recommendations , the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University Clinical data were collected from October 2007 to October 2010 42 cases of complete at the same time admitted to the onset of acute pancreatitis associated with metabolic syndrome ( MS group ) and acute pancreatitis associated with metabolic syndrome , 86 cases ( non-MS group), two groups of age , gender , Ranson score , Balthazar CT grading score , serum calcium , blood CRP , blood oxygen , hospital stay, water fasting time , abdominal pain , the serum amylase recovery time , local complications and complications incidence were compared in order to understand the metabolic syndrome relationship with the severity and prognosis of acute pancreatitis . Results : MS and non - MS group age , gender comparisons , the difference was not statistically significant. MS group and non-MS group , MS group Ranson score , Balthazar CT grading score , blood CRP levels than those higher than the non- MS group ; calcium and blood oxygen level is lower than the non- MS group ; hospital stay, water fasting time abdominal pain , The serum amylase recovery time was significantly longer than non - MS group , local complications and the complication rate is higher than the non - MS group , the difference was statistically significant ( P lt ; 0.05 ) . Conclusion: The metabolic syndrome and acute pancreatitis severity of the disease is closely related to the metabolic syndrome as a judge of acute pancreatitis severity of the disease and one of the factors affecting prognosis .
