Objective To understand the the spondyloarthropathy ( spondyloarthropathy SpA ) in serum and the sacroiliac joint tissue matrix metalloproteinase -3 ( matrix metalloproteinase -3 , MMP - 3 ) ??and matrix metalloproteinase -9 (matrixmetalloproteinase-9, MMP-9) expression , and to explore the role of MMP-3 and MMP-9 in the pathogenesis of spondyloarthropathy . Methods 50 patients with SpA patients ( 31 cases of bilateral CT SIJ inflammation ≥ grade II , 19 cases of CT SIJ inflammation grade I ) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA ) of serum MMP - 3 , MMP - 9 concentration and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein ( hs - CRP ) levels , of which 16 cases ( 7 cases of bilateral CT SIJ inflammation ≥ grade II , 9 CT SIJ inflammation level I ) line CT-guided sacroiliac joint biopsy , to obtain the sacroiliac joint tissue , a tissue HE staining confirmed the presence of sacroiliitis by immunohistochemical staining method , mark MMP - 3 , MMP - 9 expression situation . Normal serum control provided by 10 healthy volunteers , the normal tissue control a trauma surgical specimens taken from two cases of non - rheumatic diseases . Results SpA patients with sacroiliac joint histopathology confirmed the presence of sacroiliitis , immunohistochemical staining showed that MMP -3 , MMP - 9 were significantly high expression was mainly expressed in pannus and bone marrow inflammatory cells , compared with normal control cytoplasm , there is an apparent expression in chondrocytes . SpA serum MMP -3 , MMP - 9 concentration was significantly higher than normal control group, the difference was statistically significant . Conclusion SpA in patients with sacroiliac joint presence of MMP - 3 , MMP - 9 high expression , suggesting that MMP -3 , MMP - 9 involved in the process SpA disease , serum MMP-3 may become judgment SpA disease activity is a useful biological markers .
