Essential hypertension, the incidence of hypertension is the result of the interaction of genetic and environmental factors, inter-individual variability in blood pressure of 30% to 60% is determined by genetic factors determined. Catecholamines (Catecholamine, CA), including dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine maintain the steady state of the cardiovascular system played an extremely important role. CA secretion is not normally associated with the incidence of essential hypertension in the development of essential hypertension, elevated plasma CA concentration of norepinephrine, which plays a key role in the regulation of blood pressure. Catecholamines are synthesized from tyrosine, there are four kinds of enzymes involved in the synthesis process, the tyrosine hydroxylase (Tyrosinehydroxylase TH) is the first enzyme in the catalytic tyrosine generates dopa, is the rate-limiting enzyme in the regulation plays an important role in the central nervous system and the sympathetic nervous system and cardiovascular function. In view of the TH plays an important role in the pathogenesis of human hypertension, we infer that the TH gene may be important candidate genes for hypertension susceptibility. Objective: case - control study to explore the relationship TH gene polymorphism and Hunan Han population with essential hypertension genetic susceptibility. Methods: Polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) analysis method, in 368 cases of patients with essential hypertension and 353 healthy population of TH gene C-824T genotyping . Genotype and allele frequency distribution of the similarities and differences between the application χ ~ 2 test was used to compare the groups, the correct application of the non-conditional logistic regression analysis of risk factors, and to determine the correlation between the the TH gene C-824T polymorphism with hypertension genetic predisposition relationship. Results: 1. Cases of hypertension and control groups TH gene C-824T (rs10770141) loci CC and CT TT genotype frequencies were 89.9%, 10.1% and 88.7%, 11.3%, between the two groups of genotype distribution No statistically significant difference (χ ~ 2 = 0.308, P = 0.579). Hypertension cases and control groups in the C allele and T allele frequencies were 94.8%, 5.2% and 94.1%, 5.9%, between the two, there is no statistical difference (χ ~~ 2 = 0.425, P = 0.515). Corrected by gender, age, body mass index, smoking history, drinking history, first-degree relatives of hypertension family history, serum creatinine, blood glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein, Logistic regression analysis showed that, regardless of the TH gene C-824T polymorphism and the risk of hypertension (P = 0.264, OR = 0.723,95% CI = 0.409 to 1.278). Stratified analysis by gender, men and women between the case and control groups TH C-824T genotype distribution was no significant difference (P = 0.841 and P = 0.288). 4 TH C-824T of the control group of polymorphic loci the CT TT genotype diastolic blood pressure (81 ± 8 mmHg) higher than genotype CC individuals (77 ± 9 mmHg, P = 0.015). Gender stratified analysis, the polymorphic loci of the men in the control group THC-824T the CT TT genotype diastolic blood pressure (83 ± 7 mmHg) than genotype CC individuals (77 ± 9mmHg, P = 0.018), the difference statistically significant. The control group of women the THC-824T polymorphism loci the CT TT genotype CC genotype diastolic blood pressure difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.083). Conclusion: 1.TH gene C-824T genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility to essential hypertension in Hunan Han population; 2.TH gene C-824T genetic polymorphism may be associated with the men's diastolic blood pressure of Hunan Han population .
