Abstract


MIL-STD-1553B (1553B for short) is an widely adopted multiplex data bus, it has good real time performance, high reliability, strong anti-interference performance and some other attractive characteristics. It is widely used in aviation, space and military fields and is being introduced to non-military fields. LXI is the new generation of automatic testing bus based on Ethernet after GPIB, VXI and PXI. The newly arisen bus technique draws extensive attention on its proposing and is developing very fast. Automatic testing system based on LXI technique will become the development direction. This paper aims at researching 1553B bus technique and developing an LXI 1553B Bus communication module.After extensive study on the development of the field at home and abroad, this thesis determines the functions and specification. Based on the specification requirements, the overall scheme has been proposed to design the module in hardware and software. In hardware design, ARM7 is adopted as the main controller of the whole module. DDC Corp.’s BU-61580 is utilized as an interface to realize the communication functions defined in 1553B standard. Besides, the modular method is integrated in the design of LXI interface. In software design, the development procedure is specified from top-level application program, IVI-COM driver and bottom-level software.Based on the testing results from debugging, it is proved that the module functions correctly which implements the 1553B bus communication protocol, and conforms to LXI standard.
