Abstract
|
Pluripotent stem cells and their uses are currently hot topics in both biology and medicine, which offer the hope of therapy for a whole array of diseases, many of which are untreatable right now. This paper tries to clarify the general picture of the history of the pluripotent stem cell technology and the restriction which have been made in that field, and so are the relationship between the technology and the followed impacts. Additionally, this paper constructs a rational understanding of the pluripotent stem cell technology through the angle of critical theory of technology, and focuses a new expression on innovation of the technology. Once the technological public domain sets up, it will bring about more effective dialogue between the public, scientific community and the government. The conscious collaboration from the public will fulfill the society which requires the evolvement of technology, treatment of disease, protection of the public interests and freedom.
