Abstract


Nowadays, the financial sector of our country is stepping into the financial globalization era and the competition between banks is getting more and more severe. Seeking survival and development in the fierce competition is becoming an important subject to every commercial bank especially to the state-owned commercial banks. It’s necessary for the commercial banks to carry out the development strategies according to the characteristics of their own for sustainable development.Jiangnan branch of Agricultural Bank of China is just the same with other banks, and it has an excellent opportunity of speeding up the development. It’s significant to seize the opportunities of joint-stock reform of the Agricultural Bank of China and the chances of ’building a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan’. It’s necessary to analyze the opportunities and challenges, to strengthen the sense of crisis, to determine the excellent banking development strategy and to adjust the strategy of banking development.This paper preliminary discussed the theoretical basis of the excellent banking, anlalyzed the situation and difficulties of Agricultural Bank of Jiangnan, and researched comprehensivly and systematicly on the background of the building of excellent banking; strategical arrangement; operational systems; the optimization of business processes and structure; operating environment and the strategic objectives of the excellent banking. It’s believed that the study of this paper would be guidance to the implementation of ’excellent banking’ strategy of the Agricultural Bank of Jiangnan, and it would also be a reference and inspiration to other banks’ development strategies.
