Abstract


The transportation of the Huai He Valley was a very convenient system during Qing Dynasty. The layout of routes is:Take as waterway of Huai River,Ying River, GuoRiver and so on,which consist main channel routes of Huai River. Zhengyangguan is a key position in waterway of Huai River. In the fact, The superiority of water communication is especially remarkable. In the other side, the post routes were main roads from Jingshi to southern area of the Yangtze and the District of Huguang. Fengyangfu was a main center of land routes in Huai He Valley. In the Qing Dynasty, The routes of Huai He Valley were important commerce communication between middle land and southern area of Yangtze and District of Huguang. Following is the tendence of traffic evalution during Qing Dynasty:The waterway voyage of Huai River reduced and moved from upstream to downstream gradually. By late Qing Dynasty, the traditional post roads transformed into modern style railways and roads. Correspondingly, the advantage of land routes grew rapidly and the City like as Bengbu become a new traffic center. It needs to attention that the change of traffical condition between various cities is more complex, the prosperity and declines of cities has the remarkable difference.Based on this sdudy, It is very close between th eevolution of transportation and devolpment of cities in HuaiHe Valley. It sho wsa significant connection with the universal backwardness of handicraft indust ry in Huai He Valley.
