Age-related macular degeneration (age-related macular degeneration, AMD) of its incidence increased year by year , due to the complexity of the disease itself , the cause has not been determined , there are still a lot of controversy . The main purpose of this study is the investigation by the habits of clinical patients , biochemical examination , fundus examination , past medical history , and many other factors , the analysis of a variety of related factors of AMD , eliminate interfering factors , a clear cause -related factors . A case control study collected patient information from tertiary hospitals , 200 patients have been diagnosed with AMD in June 2003 - June , 200 cases of non - AMD patients . A standardized questionnaire , the medical records of the two groups of patients , including the patient's natural condition , past medical history , life history and specialist , a total of 29 . Patient information to fill in the questionnaire , and multivariate logistic regression analysis to analyze the relationship between the various factors and AMD . Rate compared using χ2 test , measurement data using the rank sum test , and multivariate analysis was performed on the basis in the univariate analysis , screening of AMD -related factors . The study results show that : the non-research factors of age , gender, through the balancing test , show comparable between the two groups . AMD occurrence as the dependent variable and related factors as independent variables were analyzed by univariate χ2 test, rank sum test results show : smoking, occupation , total cholesterol , triglycerides , low-density lipoprotein , hypertension , illumination time as the suspiciously factors . Logistic regression analysis of multiple factors to exclude confounding factors , and ultimately found : smoking ( odds ratio, odds ratio , OR = 3.339 ; 95 % confidence interval confidence interval , CI = 1.952-5.710 ) ; total cholesterol ( OR = 1.841 , 95% CI = 1.094-3.100); high-density lipoprotein (OR = 0.578, 95% CI = 0.360-0.929); low-density lipoprotein ( OR = 2.781 , 95% CI = 1.729-4.472 ) ; illumination time ( OR = 3.953,95% CI = 2.096-7.463); hypertension (OR = 2.907,95% CI = 1.789-4.717); career ( 1) ( OR = 0.351,95 % CI = 0.165-0.748 ) ; career (3 ) (OR = 2.865,95% CI = 1.280-6.416) more than eight relevant factors for AMD . Smoking , total cholesterol , occupation , exposure time , low-density lipoprotein , high blood pressure can increase the prevalence of AMD should actively Control and Prevention . And high-density lipoprotein protective factors for AMD .
