Abstract


The new course embodies a series of completely new teaching theories and ideas. However, no matter how greatly the teaching ideas and teaching contents have been changed, they must be practiced in the process of teaching and learning. So, if we don’t have an efficient teaching process, we can’t achieve the teaching goals either. Then we can say, the efficiency of teaching is the soul of the teaching and learning process.Biology is an experiment-based science, the curriculum standard of which advocates the inquiry learning method which emphasizes on observation, investigation and experiments. This method, with experiment being the key resort, is not only the process but the means. Experiments help develop students’ abilities and enhance their scientific practice. Thus, the efficiency of biology experiment teaching is the core content of the efficiency of teaching.The first part of the paper puts forward the questions, illustrates its purpose and significance of the subject, defines biology experiment -related instruction concepts and discusses the theoretical basis of the efficient teaching and learning. The second part introduces the background and the status quo of the project. The third part reveals the causes of the low efficiency quality of experiment teaching, after I refer to relevant works, summarize my teaching experience and learn from others, and fully investigate the current status of the present biological experiment teaching of junior school. The paper has initially found that due to many negative factors such as poor school management system, teachers’ obsolete teaching ideas, the wrong guidance of entrance examination, old evaluation system and so on, our biology experiment teaching in junior schools is accordingly backward. Such inefficient experiment teaching has influenced the whole reform and development of biology teaching and learning. The fourth part investigates and analyzes the factors that influence the efficiency of experiment teaching of junior high schools, works out some principles to improve it, researches the specific strategies, and puts the strategies into teaching practice of which the outcome will be further analyzed and discussed. The last part is some reflection on the subject.The main purposes of the paper are to investigate the actuality of biology experiment teaching and learning of junior school, expose the factors that holds back biology experiment teaching, explore and find the probable better ways to improve experiment teaching quality. Both in theory and practice, the paper can be some kind of reference to junior school biology teachers and to some extent, good to the improvement of junior school biology experiment teaching and learning. It provides some operable strategies to enhance the efficiency of experiment teaching in junior school. It involves in following items:(1) To enhance the ability of biology teachers concerning experiment.(2) To study students’ psychology and enhance students’ learning efficiency.(3) To integrate the content of teaching and learning, manage the class effectively, and pay special attention to psychology research of teaching.(4) To develop teaching means, improve teaching surroundings, develop manifold teaching, and advance students’ interest to experiment.(5) To organize more activities after school, enlarge students’ thoughts, and advance their positivity in the experiment.(6) To apply multimedia teaching means, and improve teaching quality.(7) To improve teaching evaluation level, build up multi-evaluation systems, and set up evaluation system which accords with principles and characters of new courses.
