Abstract


The hearing is an important part of the teaching of English, which is the basis for the development of reading, writing and speaking ability. Listening comprehension is an active process. In the process of listening, the listener wants to obtain is the earlier understanding of the contents of the speaker. To achieve this understanding, listeners need to use background knowledge, context clues and rely on a variety of learning strategies. Active listener will make use of background knowledge, with a purpose to understand the speaker's meaning. Currently, our junior high school English listening teaching situation is not satisfactory, there are still some problems. Listening Teaching often speaking vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. In the process of listening, students are passive recipients. This way of teaching seriously hurt the students 'initiative, which hinder the students' interest in learning and creativity. To solve the above problem, this paper schema theory guidance Listening Teaching as a research topic, schema theory and its application in English listening comprehension process. Schema theory is that the listener's background plays a key role in understanding the new article. According to schema theory, the process of listening comprehension is an interactive mode, which includes a combination of bottom-up and top-down interactive mode. According to this model, the process of listening comprehension is the listener's background knowledge and listen to the article interaction process. Therefore, schema theory has a guide on hearing teaching. In the process of listening comprehension, the listener should activate their background knowledge, and use them to understand the new article. Schemata of the listener's decided he wants to understand the content, the degree of understanding and the ability to understand. In order to explore the relationship between Schema Theory and listen to understand and then seek an effective way to improve students' listening comprehension skills in this study, the authors conducted a of two hearing test and a questionnaire. The subjects from Wufeng Middle School. Experimental results show that: the listening teaching should not only focus on the decoding of language knowledge, lack of social and cultural knowledge, the context knowledge might become barriers to successful listening comprehension. Experiments show that: provide relevant background knowledge or previously have relevant background knowledge will facilitate listening comprehension. In addition, the study also found that: do not have basic listening strategies, inadequate preparation before listening to the students' motivation is not strong or incorrect unfavorable factors that may affect hearing performance. This paper examines the role of schema theory teaching in junior high school hearing, the following revelations: First, teachers should help students do well to listen to the former preparatory work, including the sweep of New Words, provide relevant background knowledge; listening teaching process activate students 'prior schemata, teachers should not only focus, but also to focus on helping students to establish new schema; Third, in the day-to-day teaching practice, teachers should have the awareness of develop students' listening strategies, meta-cognitive skills as well as learning autonomy; Fourth, teachers should also focus on guiding students to a large number of extensively extensive reading in order to help students to accumulate a wealth of knowledge of the world (schema). Hope that this study will produce positive significance of the junior high school English listening teaching.
