Virtual reality technology is widely used in education, medical care, architecture, industrial design, military and other fields. Virtual roaming system is the earliest application of virtual reality technology, the virtual campus is a virtual flood system, mainly to virtual campus environment (3 d landscape). The construction of campus roaming system based on virtual reality technology can better planning and development of the campus environment, improve school visibility, promote the development of distance education, from digital campus construction to provide a good platform. Based on virtual reality technology, virtual reality modeling language VRML research, especially the 3 d modeling, scene optimization technology research, designed a campus roaming system based on virtual reality technology. The roaming system based on VRML development tools, at the same time, combined with 3 d modeling software 3 ds Max and Canoma based virtual scene, using Cortona VRML browser, through Script nodes of VRML, programs written in Java or JavaScript to extend the function of VRML, greatly improving the interaction of campus roaming system performance.
