Abstract


In the industrial economics research field , the convention and exhibition industry as an emerging green industry is developing , and showing a strong momentum of development , with its characteristics of high - efficiency , high - growth urban economic development booster in some Western developed countries , the exhibition industry is known as the \Shanghai is China 's economic , financial and trade center , with Shanghai as the center of the Yangtze River Delta region is the fastest economic development in China , the largest of the total economy , the most potential for development of economic blocks . Shanghai exhibition industry after 20 years of development , has now entered a period of fully upgraded , especially the 2010 World Expo will be held in Shanghai , the Shanghai exhibition industry provides a great historic opportunity by leaps and bounds progress . How to maintain and enhance the international competitiveness of the exhibition industry in Shanghai , to become famous exhibition city in Asia can rely on the machine of the World Expo in Shanghai , is a problem worthy of study . This article is divided into six parts . The first part of the preamble discusses paper writing background , research and innovations possible . The second part of the literature review , the major industry international competitiveness , and reviewed the status quo of China 's exhibition industry . Chapter introduce the development of the exhibition industry in Shanghai outlined based on the theory analysis tools using the diamond system from several big factor analysis of the factors of production , the demand factor , as well as government and opportunities for the international competitiveness of the exhibition industry in Shanghai , and overview of Shanghai exhibition industry competitive advantage and the competitive disadvantage . Chapter comparative analysis method , the Shanghai exhibition industry with domestic and foreign exhibition cities compared , gaps and deficiencies come to the convention and exhibition industry in Shanghai . Chapter from government, industry associations , enterprises run level before analysis of gaps and deficiencies discussed the proposals and measures to enhance the international competitiveness of the exhibition industry in Shanghai . Chapter VI for the last part of the paper , a summary of the conclusions drawn by the paper also pointed out the inadequacies of the research in this article .
