Abstract

It well known that dust is one of public pollution in the world. The dust pollution affects many aspects of human and environment, such as toxicological and sensory effects on humans, agricultural crops, grass and livestock, reduction of visibility, and abrasion and corrosion of materials. Many industry activities could generate dust particles and suffer from it, such as metallurgy, light industry, machinery, ceramics, coal Charcoal, building materials, electric power, petrochemical and food crushing, processing and other industries. Despite continuous transformations including new technologies and new materials have been done, and production environment has gradually improved and dust hazard has been controlled to some extent, dust pollution problem has not been thoroughly resolved. So while we are using the existing technologies, we should constantly study new dust-settling technology to reduce and prevent dust hazards. It is practically significant for environment cleanup, employees’ health and safe production and steady development of enterprises. This article used the means which unifies the theory and the experiment. Based on depth analysis of the basic theories of dust-settling by self-inhale spray, including spray dust removal mechanism, nozzle atomization, sprayer design, spray atomization characteristics indicators and dust removal efficiency factors. And then theoretically discussed dust suppression mechanism with magnetized water and self-inhale spray, and analyzed the structure of pure water, changes of its basic physical and chemical properties after water magnetized, effects of magnetic field to water, the impact of magnetized water on the dust removal and atomization performance. We also studied the factors which affect dust suppression of self-inhale sprayer from the point of magnetization. Then we conducted experimental research on spray performance. Based on previous research, we selected a reasonable magnetization way and determined spray device and its structural parameters by using basic theories of jet pumps and venturitube. Through measurement of particle size distribution (SMD), we obtained that magnetic droplet size is smaller than ordinary spray; droplets SMD magnetized in different place is slightly larger than which magnetized together; as the pressure increases, he droplet size decreases, but not in proportional relations. When analyzed the axial distribution velocity, we found the relationship between the droplet size and its axial distribution velocity, it meets five times polynomial fitting curve, but its parameters is under specific conditions. Finally, dust suppression efficiency by magnetized water and self-inhale spray were studied. Mainly compared single-nozzle spray with self-inhale spray, and compared self-inhale spray with magnetized self-inhale spray. We concluded that under the same pressure, overall dust-settling efficiency of self-inhale spray is higher than that of single-nozzle spray; dust-settling result of magnetized self-inhale spray is better than that of ordinary self-inhale spray; different location of magnets impact dust-settling result. In this article, the experimental results are consistent with the theoretical analysis:magnetic spray helps to improve atomization performance and efficiency of dust suppression, it has reference value.
