Abstract

Traditional earth pressure theory of mechanics concept is clear, the calculation method is simple , but the actual they seek to limit state earth pressure value , the value could lead to waste or produce unsafe consequences in engineering design . In most cases , the small lateral displacement of the retaining wall , retaining wall earth pressure are actually in between the earth pressure at rest and limit soil pressure . In order to more accurately retaining wall design , it is necessary to study non - ultimate displacement of earth pressure . Soil from a standstill to limit state is a gradual process , the earth pressure by the retaining wall displacement mode and displacement size . The Retaining Walls pressure distribution is nonlinear , filling slip surface is usually curved . This paper to analyze existing soil pressure test and numerical results to get backfill progressive failure mechanism , the play features to fill the internal friction angle and wall - soil contact surface friction angle , to establish within the external friction angle the relationship between the soil displacement . Consider the likely shape of the slip surface , improving the existing passive earth pressure calculation method , and the establishment of different displacement mode , non-extreme passive earth pressure intensity , together its role point formula . Were calculated filling for different density of the dry sand and filling saturated sand model test , and compared with the measured data , found that the two conclusions is relatively consistent . The soil pressure calculation method to consider retaining wall displacement mode and size , soil slip surface development , the friction angle play features influencing factors , can be solved under any amount of displacement of the passive earth pressure , easy to master , can well reflect the soil the variation of pressure with its point of displacement .
