Abstract

In hydraulic engineering , water engineering facilities damage the most important aspects that affect the safety of the works . Especially groundwater is difficult to observe on the role of water conservancy projects , and has been found it difficult to restore , and often cause serious economic losses . Water Project on groundwater seepage damage prevention is critical . Earth dam of dam construction in the application as the world's most extensive, the fastest growing one form , the structure is simple , easily obtained . This structure and material properties , embankment dams become most closely with the seepage in the various forms of water retaining structures , a . Seepage problem is directly related to the cost and safety of the embankment dam engineering , many domestic and foreign outburst or destruction of the embankment dam engineering , are caused by seepage . Reasonable flow control is necessary to protect the dam safety running conditions . The paper selected the embankment dam clay core dam as a typical study , Liaoning Chaihe dam as a template , the establishment of a three-dimensional numerical model suitable for the study . Departure from the embankment dam seepage mechanism by the simulation of complex conditions embankment dam seepage process , application of advanced hydrological the numerical model InHM model based on physical concepts , different state conditions each time embankment dam saturation line position , the pressure head field , seepage velocity field elements and in-depth analysis , and to explore the characteristics of earth-rock dam seepage damage . The study is divided into two types of analysis : the earth dam seepage stabilize water when the head of a different role , different core wall , drainage , and water level in different ways changes embankment dam seepage . Focusing on the variation in water levels , of embankment dams internal change of seepage field characteristics and the occurrence of percolation dangerous position and dangerous time to do the inspection . Through a series of targeted studies , the following conclusions : 1 head difference driving factors of earth dam seepage ; 2 the most dangerous parts of the dam global in the dam toe out of the flow at the downstream side of the heart wall ; 3 core wall on seepage role related to its thickness ; 4 . drainage of the combined effects of both ; earth dam seepage control water level changes , earth dam seepage of hazardous areas and dangerous time vary according to water level changes .
