Abstract


Objective: To study the relationship of fixed orthodontic treatment before the start of the three dimensions of personality of the young people with their anxiety state. Visits from the three dimensions of personality wearing adolescent anxiety before and after fixed appliance state variation. Methods: A total of 196 adolescents fixed orthodontic treatment is wrong (?) Deformity patients participated in the survey, of which 180 patients completed a questionnaire about psychological conditions. 1) completed psychological questionnaires (including general, the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, MDAS questionnaire) before the start of the fixed orthodontic treatment, the fixed appliance wear a week after again fill MDAS questionnaire. 2) completed 180 Eysenck Personality Questionnaire statistics obtained every young patients with fixed orthodontic treatment Eysenck Personality Questionnaire factor scores calculated extraversion, neuroticism, psychoticism three The size distribution of different kinds of personality dimensions personality tendencies. MDAS questionnaire on anxiety states to give a quantitative scoring, and calculate the the MDAS questionnaire scores before and after each patient wearing fixed appliance. Score according to the MDAS questionnaire before wearing fixed appliance, subjects classified as non-dental anxiety group and dental anxiety group, and the number of distribution statistics for each group. 3) distribution of the different personality tendencies number three personality dimensions of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and wear before fixed appliance, two groups according to the MDAS questionnaire score by the number of distribution on cross-classification count contingency table, then conduct qualitative variables association analysis. 4) score based wear the the MDAS questionnaire before and after fixed appliance, the analysis of the relationship of fixed appliance wear before and after the anxiety state to change the situation and the three dimensions of personality and anxiety status change. Results: 1) state of anxiety in adolescents fixed orthodontic treatment before the start of the three dimensions of personality (the correlation size: Neuroticism gt; internal and external to the spirit of the gt; quality). 2) before and after fixed appliance wear MDAS questionnaire score increased, but not statistically significant. Correlation analysis showed that the change in state of nervousness and anxiety showed a strong positive correlation. Conclusion: before the start of the adolescent patients with fixed orthodontic treatment, dental anxiety status of their personality related to dental anxiety state and neurotic. The fixed appliance wearing anxiety state before and after the change nervousness showed a strong positive correlation. This prompted fixed orthodontic treatment from newly diagnosed outset, we them the necessary psychological counseling should be based on the patient's personality traits, in particular, should be concerned about a neurotic adolescent patients group.
