Abstract


"Mahayana sraddhotpada sastra" is a important classic of the Chinese Buddhism Characteristics, with the Liang-Sui Dynasty inborn. In the Period of Wei-Jin and Northern-Southern Dynasties,with the wide and deep study of Buddhism,kinds of schools were formed. With the development of the "Maha(?)parinirva(?)na-su(?)tra”、"Dasabhu(?)mikabha(?)sya" or the translation of other Tathaagatagarbha classic works, the research turn Prajna "Emptiness and no-self”to Nirvana subline "existence" and the dispute in Buddhism were mainly about Buddhist facture. Various schools were different from the thoughts on the way such as buddhist thought, tathgata-garbha, the storehouse consciousness, or others as true heart, invented heart, honjox, enlightenment…and the discussion continued with a long time and complicated. "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana" was the fruit of fusion of the Buddhist ideas. "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana" made the "single-mindedness and two method of teaching" as the theoretical structure models, with the base of Zen Sect, the storehouse consciousness, enlightenment, ignorance, and so on the Buddhist name perfumation phase, according to the department of Indian Tathagatagarbha classic ideas, proposed two theories of true heart and Enlightenment of ontology and thoughts of Zen Sect of cause. So formed the unique ideological features of the Chinese Buddhism and marked the independence of the Chinese Buddhist theory. Moreover, it also made a futher impact on Sui-Tang Buddhist schools as well as the development of their theories, and the mental thinking and the manners of their thinking of the Neo-Confucianism.The paper is divided into three parts:Part I:The traceability of Tathagatagarbha thought. This section focuses on the ideological origins and characteristics of India Tathagatagarbha thoughts. It is likely to rationalize the development of Tathagatagarbha of the Buddhism, and describe the traceability and formation of "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana" briefly.PartⅡ:the study on the thought of "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana"and Tathaagatagarbha. This part is the main of the paper. It focuses on the analyze of the thought of true heart and Enlightenment and thoughts of Zen Sect in "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana". This section discriminates several correlative concepts which are Zen Sect, he storehouse consciousness, Enlightenment consciousness ignorance、perfumation, in order to display the practicality, consciousness, and the significant position.This section also displays the unique model of thinking of "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana" and the significant position in the Buddhism Philosophy.Part III:the influnce of Tathagatagarbha thoughts in "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana". This section mainly discusses the wide and deep affect of "The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana" Tathagatagarbha thoughts. This section briefly introduces its’ affect on the theoretical framework or thinking mode of the Sui-Tang dynasty, such as Tiantai Sect、the Buddharatamsakamahavaipulya sect、the Zen Buddhism or Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism.
