Abstract


Hou han shu as a history book, its content is very extensive. As an important source book of the mid - ancient times, Hou han shu is an important source text for the research on the history of Chinese. So I chooses Hou han shu as my studying object, making an investigation into the classifiers in it. Then make a statistic of classifiers according to the categories and get the conclusion on the basis of description and situation. At last,compare Hou han shu classifiers with those in other texts.This thesis composed of six Parts:Part One:IntroductionGive a description of research of classifiers in twentieth century and the research of Hou han shu. And give the goal meaning and research methods of this thesis. And make serial special instructions about classifiers in Hou han shu.Part Two and Part Three:Describe all the classifiers in Hou han shu. Because too many classifiers, so we divided into two chapters to analyse.Part Two:Nature classifiersNature classifiers are divided into two categories:individual-nominal-classifiers, collective-nominal-classifiers. In Hou han shu, the amount of the classifiers for nature classifiers is sixty-four, including forty-four individual-nominal-classifiers and twenty collective-nominal-classifiers. I mainly conduct through classifies, make extracts and describe classifiers in this book one by one basing on the investigation. I study part classifiers’developing situation, make a synchronic comparison to specific classifiers.Part Three:Brrowing unit classifiers、Measure classifiers, Verb-classifiersIn Hou han shu, the amount of brrowing unit classifiers is seven, the amount of measure classifiers is twenty-six and the verb-classifiers is six.In the two part, we explain the classifier with reference to the explanation of the original meaning and the extend meaning firstly. The number of classifiers was counted and examples were listed. Then the classifiers was listed and explained. During the course of the depiction, I not only explain the meaning and usage with many examples, but also compare and analyse the classifiers that are similar in usage.Part Four:the numeral research and the numeration of Hou han shuWe divided the numeral in Hou han shu into six kinds:Cardinal number, Ordinal number, Approximate number, Asking number, Fraction, Multiple on the research standards of our ancestors. And I did much research into the sentence patterns of numerals in Hou han shu,specially the Noun Classifier numeration and the Verb Classifier numeration, made clear about clues of their development, summarized the rules of their evolvement.Part Five:ComparismIn this part, those classifiers in Hou han shu will be compared with those in Zuo zhuan,Shiji and San guo zhi.In a evolutionary view, Draw a outline of the change and the development of the classifier by historical compare. Through comparative method, scrutinize the condition and position of the classifier in Hou han shu.The last:DiscussionBy research on classifiers of Hou han shu, we will discuss the language situation in the perspective of classifiers to be benefit the research of Hou han shu.
