Abstract


The Service of "Borrow Anywhere, Return Anywhere"(BARA) is very important for sharing materials and library-community service extention. But the precondition of BARA-"Delivery Mode" is lack of being researched. At the same time, through the author’s research, foreigh libraries all have delivery mode which is efficient, orderly and lower cost. But the delivery of domestic libraries is disorderly, reflected in its time and routes are irregular. So, it is imperative for us to design a perfect mode of delivery for BARA.This paper is for the first time in researching the precondition of BARA-the problem of circulation. The knowledge of Library Science, Economics, Logistics Theory, Statistics, Operational Research is combined; Literature Research Act, Model Comparison, Internet Research Act, Interview are combined, delivery mode for BARA which is of lowest cost is brourgt out.Firstly, the background, purpose and significance of the research is brought out; and the related basic theory is elaborated. Secondly, present delivery practice of foreign libraries and domestic libraries are descibed, shortage of delivery mode of domestic libraries is brought out. Thirdly, basic methods of choosing distribution center location are compared and the original model of delivery mode is determined. The key influential factors and basic requirements are discussed. Then, the model of choosing distribution center location for BARA is built up, the application and solution of the model is elaborated. At last, delivery mode of Shang-Cheng District, Xia-Cheng District, West-Lake District, Gong-Shu District and Jiang-Gan District are designed.
