Data acquisition technique is an important component of Information Science, as well as the basis of modern detection techniques. With the needs of science and technology, data acquisition, united with data processing and storage, is often applied into the fields of aerospace, image treatment and radar detection. On the other hand, with the development of manufacturing process, the picking rate and store capacity have been highly improved. At present, with a core of FPGA, the digital system united with high speed data acquisition and mass memory has become a hotspot. This dissertation introduces the current situation of data acquisition and storage at home and abroad, as well as the prospect of application. Then it confirms the implementations of the whole system and submodules according to the system indexes. This design realizes high speed acquisition and it is designed to communicate with a fiber harddisk so that these sample data can be stored. The whole system consists of high speed data acquisition module, data buffer module and data storage module. Data acquisition module regulates the sample rate to sample the analogdata after the signal is filtered and magnified. Data buffer module takes charge of caching the sample data and then the last module will transport them to the optical harddisk for storage. This design makes use of FPGA to control the system and provide the required clocks of each module. This paper uses the Multisim and Modelsim simulation tools to simulate the timing of three submodules and finally describes the two circuit boards used in this design. The test results prove that this design satisfies the system requirements.
