Abstract

At present, mobile communication becomes one of the communication technologies that update most fast, and it plays an important part in the development of human’s life and society. In it, close attention is paid to Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) as two popular technologies. Researchs show that OFDM has a higher spectral efficiency compared with CDMA. However, the orthogonality restriction makes that there is more sensitivity to Doppler Shift in OFDM. Time Shift Non-orthogonal Multi-Modulated Technology (TS-NMT), brought up by professor Dequn Liang, breaks through the limitation of orthogonality. Compared with OFDM, TS-NMT has higher spectrum efficiency, less sensitivity to Doppler Shift and lower PAR.The simulation studies of TS-NMT based on WiMax, WiFi and satellite wireless channels have been done, and its feasibility and superiority have been proved. But the comparison between CDMA and TS-NMT hasn’t been made yet, which is necessary to practice application of TS-NMT. In this thesis, performance comparison between Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) and TS-NMT is realized based on computer simulations. In this thesis, the physical layer of TD-SCDMA and the basic principle of TS-NMT are studied. Based on Rayleigh fading channel which parameters are referred to three cases——inside the room, walking outside the room, driving outside the room——the two systems are realized on computer simulations respectively. The process of computer simulation consists of signal source, signal modulation, through Rayleigh fading channel, channel estimation and channel equalization, and signal demodulation. In TS-NMT system, demodulation is conducted by solving the linear equation. Wave pretreatment is introduced to reduce the equation morbidity, considered of the effect to system capacity. As for the modulation part, amplitude modulation style is adopted in TS-NMT, and QPSK modulation style is adopted in TD-SCDMA. As for the signal detection and estimation part, channel estimation and channel equalization is conducted by direct measure based on training sequence that are inserted among symbols in TS-NMT system. In TD-SCDMA system, channel estimation is conducted based on Midamble sequence that are inserted in each burst. And the detection of the user’s received signal is based on this channel estimation in TD-SCDMA system. In order to get a technique which has the advantages of the two technogies in it, it is considered to integrate this two technogies (that is CDMA-TS-NMT) in the thesis. It is validated in theory and the pseudorandom sequence code is designed. It turns out that in the same condition TS-NMT yields a better performance, both in terms of spectral efficiency and transmission speed.
