Abstract


Before the emergence of internet media, study of group polarization was confined to sociology and social psychology, and was not introduced to the field of journalism and communication. However, with the development of network technology, internet has gradually become a virtual real society which provides a favorable circumstance for group polarization.Abstract Internet Group Polarization refers to the Internet Plat form of the new information ecosystem,and because the source of stimulus Polarization information,as Well as various network elements or stakeholders to Promote the network quickly generate mental groups, group interaction constantly increased, the view inherent in Internet users among the continuously strengthened,and finally to the Phenomenon of Polarization.Characteristic because of interactive nature, real time nature , surpassing a version and individuation and so on that the network spreads, network public opinion polarization phenomenon formation and development appear complex, different from real-world group polarization, internet group polarization features its rapid and extensive influence on society,which is also the reason why it has drawn so much attention from the fields of journalism and communication.By employing multidisciplinary knowledge in journalism, communication, and social psychology, the paper intends to make a comparative study of internet and real-world group polarization in terms of communication elements, communication mechanism (i.e. polarization mode), communication channel, control mechanism and communication effects from the perspective of communication, based on the current situation of internet group polarization, in order to establish an integral germinal model for internet group polarization.The paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter one introduces the background, purpose and significance of the study. Chapter two presents some basic concepts and theories about group polarization. Chapter three focuses on the analysis of internet group polarization in terms of communication environment, audience and information. Chapter four is the study on polarization model, communication channel, communication method, control mechanism and communication effect based on the research context of communication and quite study. And the last chapter elaborates the interaction of group polarization with internet and reality.
