Abstract

With the development of economies, the increase of civilian income, as well as the extensive tourism information in this information age, the tourists’ needs become more diversified, and they begin to pursue deeper tourism experiences. The tourism trend takes such a track as to be sightseeing tourism-leisure tourism-recreational tourism. Under the burden of environmental pollution and living stress, the urban residents, as the main tourist source of the tourism market, began to seek for recreational activities in order to relax body and souls. Therefore, Recreational Belt Around Metropolis come to be the first choice of the urban residents due to its location and environment advantages.The economies in Shandong are developing rapidly in recent years. The average income of urban residents also makes a steady rise. It is reported that urban residents disposable income of 2008 had reached the level of 2384 U.S. dollars, according to which the conditions of recreational needs had been met. Thus, Recreational Belt Around Metropolis in many cities thrived and gradually developed ever since. So far, the tourist statistics only includes the pay-sight spots, and scaled recreational spots, but most of the spontaneous and less scaled recreational spots escape the investigation and research. In this thesis, those recreational spots which were exclusive in the tourist statistics will be investigated, and the conclusion are as follows:from the perspective of tourist trip characteristics, the proportion of male is higher than female; tourists of the 20-40 age group take the biggest tourism rate; student groups also take a big rate; short-distance tour in 50 kilometers is the most popular; the tourists are usually local residents; most residents choose to tour with their families or friends. From the perspective of product characteristics, the rural agricultural recreational products have a strong seasonal nature, and they are also large in quantity while small in scale. Meanwhile, the industrial recreational products are not so seasonal, and are small in both quantity and scale. In 2008, the per capita consumption on recreational products in our province is 169.1 RMB. In accordance with the investigation sample, the total expenditure of all expenses by the residents in Shandong province on Recreational Belt Around Metropolis came up to 8.668 billion RMB. Of all the costs, the traveling expenses were 1.898 billion RMB, and dinning cost 3.337 billion RMB, while the recreation expenses came up to 1.084 billion RMB, and the shopping fees were 2.02 billion RMB. The other expenses added up to 0.329 billion RMB.
