Abstract


With the development of economic and the further accelerate of the process of globalization; logistics industry has become an important part of modern economy. Many people are interested in it. Logistics industry has become a new composite-based industry. It has become a very important industry in the developed countries, and we believe that logistics industry will become a new growth point in the future economic of China. Thus the study on the efficiency of the logistics industry has become a very important index in measuring the regional logistics industry. Therefore, studying on the area efficiency of the logistics industry has great significance in sustaining sustainable, stable and coordinated of the logistics industry.Firstly, we discuss the logistics industry’s current situation in Liaoning Province using qualitative analysis, and then we show some methods on the efficiency of an industry evaluation and measure these methods. Than we present DEA in measuring a regional logistics industrial efficiency. Then we propose the theory and application of DEA. We introduce the constant returns to scale model and changed returns to scale model of DEA, and clarify the economic significance of the models. Based on the historical data, we use DEAP Version 2.0 software evaluating the various regions’ efficiency of the logistics industry of China from 2003 to 2008.So we calculate the total technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of logistics industry. Than we analyze the results from the comparison of vertical and horizontal and sort them, than we analyze the efficiency of logistics industry in Liaoning Province system.Finally, we give a number of feasibility, strong operational management recommendations of Liaoning Province based on the analysis of the results.
