In recent years, with the rapid development of social productive forces, the entire community residents feel exposed, courage and ability to overcome setbacks increasingly weak, frustration reacted vehemently, and even some people in the face of setbacks take extreme coping style, which is bound to for individuals, families, communities dramatic effect. Therefore, this article is different gender, age, marital status, class characteristics, mental health status of the adult residents setback coping comparative study will help improve and enhance the way people deal with frustration, and thus has important theoretical and practical significance . In this study, based on the perspective of setbacks, learn from social interaction theory, the use of empirical sociological research methods, Hunan, Shandong, Gansu, Shanghai, Guangxi Province, five adults conducted a questionnaire survey, analysis of different gender, age, marital status, class characteristics , mental health adult residents cope with setbacks way situation. On this basis, put forward specific hypotheses: First, adult residents of different genders deal with frustration in a different way; two adult residents of different ages deal with frustration in a different way; three different marital status of adult residents cope with setbacks presented a significant difference; four different levels of adult residents cope with setbacks conditions are different ways; five different mental health of adult residents cope with setbacks presented a significant difference. The results show that: In recent years, the residents take a negative response and psychological condition detection rate is rising; different gender, age, marital status, class characteristics and mental health of the adult population there is a certain way to deal with setbacks differences. Among them, the nature of the coping style, due to age, social class characteristics differ significantly different. On the positive coping styles, different gender, age, marital status, class characteristics showed significant differences in population. In terms of age, female residents than male residents easier to take positive coping styles. Terms of age ,26-40 year-old resident over 26 years of age and 41 years of age or residents easier to take positive coping styles. From the marital situation, unmarried than married residents residents easier to take positive coping styles, and married residents than divorced, widowed and other conditions of the residents easier to take positive coping styles. From the class situation, the residents of the higher class position more easily adopt positive coping styles. On the negative coping styles, different ages and strata resident status showed significant differences. Youth ages lighter elderly residents and residents of older middle-aged residents easier to take than negative coping. From the perspective of class, economic status of poor people more likely to take negative coping style, good economic conditions residents also easy to take a negative coping style, and most residents of the economy in general is not easy to use negative coping style. Mental health status of residents was significantly associated with coping styles by stepwise regression analysis, that the a = 0.05 level, which respond in a positive way, because of depression, somatization, and other three different areas showed significant differences ; because of the negative coping style, depression, hostility, phobic three different areas showed significant differences. Finally, based on the results of the analysis of how to enhance and improve residents' coping suggestions: To improve the overall quality of the whole nation, improve residents' resistance to frustration; strengthen mental health education, improving residents' coping styles; changing concepts, timely treatment .
