Abstract


With the increased complexity of the database management system and DBA costs rise, there is an urgent need to have the the autonomic computing power of database system, reduce system maintenance costs and makes the system based on the different types of load request automatic configuration management goals. Therefore, with autonomic computing capabilities of the database system more and more attention. At the same time, in a network environment, the database system need to handle a variety of changing load. In order to load normally arrive or overloading can maintain a better state of implementation of the monitoring and prediction of system operating conditions and load classification, and to take measures to optimize the scheduling of the database system. Middleware is one of the main features in the database external the effective the reasonable configuration database resources, mainly based on the client load the number of requests, when client load resource consumption is less time, middleware select the program allocates less to the client, the resource load; select the corresponding program to assign more resources to the client-side load in the case of a relatively large consumption of resources of the client load, which improves the utilization of system resources. Try some of the characteristics of autonomic computing is introduced into the database middleware, it has some intelligence to reduce database response time and improve the system resource utilization purpose. The main work of this paper: (1) the concept of autonomic computing ideas and autonomic computing model is applied to the independent database design, put forward the concept and structure of the independent database unit ADU; studied the architecture of an autonomous database systems, and put forward a generic distributed autonomous database system design method. (2) focus on the design of a database load independent middleware framework model consists of several components: load listener, knowledge base, the load characteristics of the detector, the detector system performance, performance prediction, performance assessment, load control scheduling, and gives the function of the corresponding component. The experimental part of the TPC-C transaction types as simulated load, combined with SQL SERVER 2000 database as the database platform, database independent middleware design added to SQL SERVER 2000 database. By comparing the experimental results with the middleware database system before and after running, verify the feasibility and effectiveness of using the database load independent middleware.
