Abstract


Objective: to evidence-based medicine concept as a guide to explore the use of virtual vertebrae to measure vertebral original height of the scientific method and its clinical application value . Methods: July 2008 to December 2008 , the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, Department of Radiology database spine ( cervical, thoracic , lumbar ) DR X -ray films ( radiographs ) for the study. First determine the selection criteria , then follow the standard inclusion criteria for the study of 113 cases of anterior , posterior height were measured by imaging . Since a total of 22 C3-L5 vertebral body, in accordance with the measure of each anterior , posterior margin of the vertebral body of data collected 30 were recorded as anterior , posterior margin of the actual height ; application virtualization vertebral methods, depending on virtual vertebral calculation formula : H. ( Virtual ) = [H ( Actual ) n-1 H ( Actual ) n 1] / 2, C4 ~ L4 measure out of 20 virtual vertebrae before and after the edge of the height of the vertebral body were recorded before and after the edge of the virtual height. The C4-L4 actual height of each vertebra to form a pair with the virtual height information of each vertebral body , composed of 30 pairs of the trailing edge of 1200 pairs of data, using statistical software SPSS17.0 actual and virtual vertebral vertebral height height correlation analysis and T-test , and further confirms the virtual vertebral calculation method is scientific and feasible. Results: The actual data for 1200 pairs of vertebral height and virtual vertebral height correlation and paired samples T-test , statistical analysis showed that : ① the actual measured around the edge of the vertebral body height and measure the resulting virtual vertebral body before and after the edge of the highly significant correlation ; ② actual anterior , posterior height and virtual anterior , posterior height was no significant difference between (P gt; 0.05). Conclusion: the scientific concept of evidence-based medicine as a research -based, clinical practice as a research starting point, from a statistical point of view confirmed the use of virtual vertebral vertebral original height calculation method of scientific and feasible , from the fundamental solution to the other vertebral body measurements, the lack of assessment methods for measuring vertebral radiographic find scientific standards and the basis to achieve a vertebral scientific measurement, data statistical analysis, determine the condition of spinal disease after treatment grading, evaluation and further clinical efficacy study provides a scientific basis.
