Chronic Glomerulonephritis (CGN) is a kind of common disease of the Medical Department. It is happened in a highest rate in all kinds of the renal diseases, and it is also the common reason to lead to the end-stage renal disease (ESRD).CGN is closely bound up with protracted course of disease, recurrence, worse and throat infection. According to the theory of throat and kidney, researching the chronic nephritis which has important sense to control the focus of infection, improve clinical symptom, prevent recurrence and worse.The thesis includes two parts, review and clinical research. The review part includes two papers. The first one was the overview in treating CGN by Chinese medicine. It is about the cognition of CGN in traditional Chinese medical science, current situation of CGN treatment by Chinese medicine and current research of Mechanism of Action in Chinese medicine. The second one reviewed the CGN treatment in light of the theory in throat and kidney. It is about cognition of the theory in throat and kidney, the supported theory in western medicine and the current situation of CGN patient curing.In clinical study part, we selected 70 patients of CGN, and divided them into two groups randomly and comparably,41 cases were in treatment group,29 in control group. Both of groups were treated by western medicine treatment. Otherwise, the treatment group was treated by Chinese herb. The control group was just treated by antibiotic. To observe the urine protein in 24 hours, red blood cells of Urine Sediment, throat symptom and the curative effect after two months. Results:in treatment group, the urine protein in 24 hours decreased very sharply(p< 0.01),while in control group, it also deceased sharply(p< 0.05). The red blood cells of Urine Sediment decreased very sharply(p< 0.01),while in control group, it also deceased sharply(p < 0.05). The effective rate of curing is 75.61% in treatment, while it is 55.17%in control group. The effect of improving symptom of treatment group is better than the control group.It concluded that for the patient of CGN with symptom in throat, treating in light of the throat theory can reduce the urine protein and red blood cells of Urine Sediment, improve the symptom of throat.
