ObjectiveMorbid leucorrhea involves vaginitis, cervicitis and pelvic inflammation in modern medicine. According to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the symptom of vaginal discharge increased is classified as a common type of morbid leukorrhea. In the treatments of TCM on morbid leukorrhea have unique theories and methods. In recent years, the reports about the acupuncture and herbal treatment on morbid leucorrhea increased gradually. The purpose of this research is to discuss the function of organs and meridians, combining collect nearly 20 years of relevant clinical reports in the literature, to summarize the law of choosing points and herbal, refining the theory, and review the approaches of the treatment of TCM,which can be used to guide the clinical therapies and improve the level of prevention and treatment of morbid leucorrhea.MethodSearched the domestic large-scale periodical literature database, collected and sorted the published literatures about treatment based on meridians and collaterals and herbal of the morbid leucorrhea of the past 20 years. Download the literatures from 1989 to 2009, supplied manual searches.Retrieval a total of 860 relevant documents, removed 378 documents which were duplicate and irrelevant, and screened for literatures in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Finally we obtained a total of 482 clinical literatures and classified these documents through therapeutic method, including 175 documents about acupuncture treatment,245 documents about herbal treatment, and 62 documents about acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine treatment.To classify these documents by therapeutic method, Statistic frequent points, meridian and herbal. Summarized the high-frequency recipe in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, recommend a standard solution to morbid leucorrhea.ResultsThrough the research, we summarized that the most frequent points are SP6, RN4, RN3, and EX-CA1. The most frequent meridian is Ren meridian, secondly is Spleen meridian, Liver meridian, Kidney meridian. The most frequent herbal is HuangBai, secondly is YiYiren, and thirdly is BaiZhu.Conclusion:Through analyzing and studying modern prescriptions, we can conclude these common points of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to cure morbid leucorrhea are largely different. Mainly is because of differences of the cause of morbid leucorrhea. Due to the modern humanistic environment changes, the conversion of life atmosphere, lead the morbid leucorrhea complicated different from ancient to modern, and now the treatment is no longer with the simple acupuncture or herbal treatment, combined with a variety of treatment methods to enhance the curative effect.
