Abstract


Inductive reasoning is the process of inference to the general events or facts from a specific event , the fact summarize the knowledge or experience simplicity of the process . The diversity effect is summarized the reasoning very important psychological effects . It is the premise of diversity in class can bring in the class within the same conclusion , a stronger induction efforts to determine the psychological phenomenon . Eye movement recording method to record and reproduce the whole process of inductive reasoning , this study eye movement recording method of presentation and propositions properties of inductive reasoning diversity effect . The study was designed two experiments , the experiment explored presentation and propositions properties of the picture material inductive reasoning diversity effect . The experimental two of inductive reasoning diversity effect on text material presentation and propositions property . Two experiments are 2 ( presentation : the same time, following the time ) × 2 ( Proposition Properties : Blank , concrete ) × 2 ( premise features : non - diversity , diversity ) mixed experimental design . This study the following conclusions: 1 , people diversity proposition and non - diversity proposition inductive reasoning , showing the diversity effect . Diversity proposition inductive strength stronger than the non - Diversity proposition . 2 , the diversity effect the performance of the people in the picture materials and written materials inductive reasoning process there are significant differences in the induction of the diversity of written material specific property has been stronger than the same kind of picture material . The picture material watching the number and the number of more than written material , while the average watching time is shorter than the text material . 3 , Proposition attribute exists a significant impact on the diversity effect , the induction of specific attributes has been stronger than the inductive strength of the blank property . The specific properties of the total fixation time and fixation frequency significantly more than an empty property . 4 , showing the diversity effect is not significant.
