Study on Suicide Ideation and Its Influential Factors Among the Medical Students of Lower Grades in Anhui Province

Abstract


Objective To understand the medical colleges and mental health of students in lower grades, and the occurrence of suicidal ideation, suicide prevention mechanism to explore the influencing factors of suicidal ideation and various factors in suicidal ideation with strength, so as to establish an effective college students provide a theoretical basis. The method selected three medical colleges in Anhui Province (Anhui Medical University, Bengbu Medical College and Wannan Medical College), a total of 10,340 freshmen and sophomores for the study. Mental health of students self-prepared to carry out a self-administered survey questionnaire with relevant life experiences, the questionnaire included: demographic data, family function scale (APGAR), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale (BSSI), Impulsivity Scale (IMP), offensive Scale (AGG), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Social Support Rating Scale (SRSS) data using the X2 test, t test, single factor, multi- logistic regression analysis and path analysis. Results lower grade students of medical colleges of suicidal ideation was 16.5%. Girls suicide ideation was 18.9%, boys and suicidal ideation was 13.7%, of suicidal ideation girls is higher than boys, the difference was statistically significant (χ 2 = 50.478, p lt; 0.01); suicidal ideation group impulse and offensive scores were significantly higher than those without suicidal ideation group (t = 16.486, p lt; 0.01; t = 24.875, p lt; 0.01); suicidal ideation group social support scored significantly lower than those without suicidal ideation group (t = -17.007 , p lt; 0.01); anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation group rate significantly higher anxiety and depression group (χ 2 = 3.354, p lt; 0.01; χ 2 = 6.888, p lt; 0.01); family functioning moderately impaired serious obstacle to the suicidal ideation group rate significantly higher than the good group (χ 2 = 5.002, p lt; 0.01). Path Analysis of the results showed that variables such as anxiety, depression, impulsivity, aggression by directly or indirectly acting on suicidal ideation, of which the strongest intensity of depression and suicidal ideation, and by directly acting on suicidal ideation. The occurrence of suicidal ideation and intermediate variables such as anxiety, depression, social support, family functioning can play a buffer role. The occurrence of suicidal ideation conclusions medical schools lower grades is the result of the combined effects of a wide range of psychological and social factors, intervention or intermediate factors can play a better prevention and intervention, while colleges and universities need to do a good job of college students commit suicide prevention and actively explore more effective suicide prevention mechanisms.
