Abstract


The post-World War II US-Japan relations from the start of the American occupation of Japan alone . Is bounded to the early 1950s , before the Kennedy School of Government ( 1945.8-1961.1 ) US-Japan relations can basically be divided into two distinct periods . Early U.S. policy towards Japan after twists and turns , but in Japan the democratization and demilitarization of reform in order to wipe out Japanese militarism did not change the fundamental goal . However, with the formation of the Cold War system , Japan has become the United States in the Far East bridgehead to contain the Soviet Union , U.S. policy towards Japan from repression to a great support .
