Abstract


Discipline is the basic unit of university organization, a university bearing teaching, research and the basic unit of social services, but also in evaluating the academic standards of colleges and universities, comprehensive strength and the fundamental symbol of social prestige. Discipline is the basic construction of colleges and universities, mainly reflected higher competitive level in the subject building, including key disciplines is the key. If the subject building is the work of leading colleges and universities, then the key disciplines is leading the construction of the whole subject is the core of colleges and universities. After 20 years of China’s key construction disciplines. In the theoretical study and practical experience have made a more fruitful. However, the current system to discuss the role of key disciplines have not yet found. In this study, subjects start with the University’s role, layers of analysis, literature research, historical research methods and comparative studies and other research methods, the role of key disciplines were reviewed, and key university disciplines present problems for construction a preliminary discussion, and also with the subject of top universities to study, and to make the author’s views and strategies.This paper is divided into six parts. Part I: Introduction, introduces the background of this study, significance, present condition and the main content and research methods. Part II: the relationship between subject and university organization, defines the discipline and the university curriculum content, organization constitute the proposed discipline is the cornerstone of the university point of view. Part III: Construction of key disciplines and the relationship between the University of disciplines to define the meaning of key disciplines and key disciplines two years combing the development process of the construction of key subjects in the academic guidance and example. Part IV: respectively from the three basic functions of the University, analyzes the key subjects of the three major functions. Part V: analysis of the current construction of key subjects and issues in the problem of attribution, and method of comparative study of the subject building world-class university to analyze the situation, and finally put forward the writer’s point of view for the construction of key disciplines. The sixth part is the last part is the full text of the conclusion.
