Abstract

Bamboo charcoal is an environmentally functional material that has excellent absorption properties. It is known to have high porosity. Various impurities or foreign matter will be absorbed over the wide surface area of the charcoal. In this article, the effects of bamboo charcoal as soil modifier was examined, this included the adsorption of organ phosphorus pesticide, the maintenance of water and fertilizer. Bamboo Charcoal-PVA soil modifier was made by using the method of dissolution by heat. A series of experiments were made to discuss the performance of this agent. The results showed:(1) Bamboo charcoal’s adsorption of acephate and dichlorvos was affected by the particle size, the density of pesticide, the height of adsorption agent, the velocity of liquid and the PH value of solution. When the charcoal particle size was 0.3-0.245mm, the initial mass concentration of acphate and dichlorvos was 0.3g/L, the PH value of solution was 7, the height of adsorption was 6cm and the velocity of liquid was 8 mL/min, the bamboo charcoal’s dynamic saturated adsorption capacity of acephate and dichlorvos was 41 mg/g and 30.6 mg/g.(2) When the weight matching of bamboo charcoal and soil was 1:15, the average rate of water content of the mixture was 33.5% after its full absorption; the average time of water conservation was 24.3h at the temperature of 60℃. With the addition of 50ml Ammonium Chloride and Monopotassium Phosphate which had the concentration of 40mg/L, the accumulation leaching rate of ammonium nitrogen and phosphorus was only 10.4% and 12.7% after washing four times.(3) Preparation of charcoal-it was more appropriate for adding 3% PVA to make polyvinyl alcohol soil modifier. Putting the sample of 3% PVA content in the middle layer of 300g soil, the rate of water content was 31.8% after full absorption. The water retention time was 35h at the ambient temperature of 60℃. With the addition of 50ml Ammonium Chloride and Monopotassium Phosphate which had the concentration of 80 mg/L, the accumulation leaching rate of ammonium nitrogen and phosphorus was 15.2% and 18.6% after washing five times.
