The change of quantity and quality of cultivated land resources have important impact on food production. Recent years, while population increase and living standards improve, the demand for food is growing very fast, but the quantity and quality of cultivated land resources decrease seriously, under this background, this thesis take Henan Province, the main food producing area, as example, make a study between cultivated land changes and food production situation.First, in chapter two, based on the long time series data, a study on food production show that: during the study period, the total output of food production increased obviously, planting areas of grain have fluctuation but not large, unit yield significantly improve and have high correlation coefficient with grain yield, food production have high concentration on the regional distribution, mainly in the south of Henan Province of Zhoukou, Zhumadian, Shangqiu, Nanyang, Xinyang areas.In chapter three, changes of cultivated land in Henan Province can be divided into three relatively distinct phases and have obvious declining trend, there are significant regional differences on spatial changes of cultivated land resources, reduce of the cultivated land due to construction occupation, land development, reclamation and consolidation in recent years are the main source of cultivated land increase, high-yield areas have a low proportion, compared to natural factors, socio-economic factors play a more prominent role in the short-term changes of cultivated land resources.Then in chapter four research on the relationship between cultivated land change and food production situation show that: cultivated land changes is not the main reason for the planting areas fluctuation, planting areas have limited impact on the grain yield, grain yield changes have high correlation coefficient with unit yield, unit yield has the maximum impact on food production in Henan Province.Finally in chapter five, based on the results, give specific proposals on cultivated land change and food production.
