Abstract

The 21st century is the human information technology era of rapid development , while the whole world has gradually entered the aging period. However, household items around us are mostly designed for young people , really suitable for the elderly to use very few supplies , especially now that high-tech electronic products , it is so far behind the elderly . Paper introduces an aging society status and development trend , and the elderly ﹑ psychological and physiological characteristics of cognitive demand , analysis of the current electronic products in the lives of older persons in the application and flaws in the design and based on the elderly psychology ﹑ ergonomics and product semantics of electronic products for the elderly usability analysis. After an exhaustive study of the elderly ﹑ psychological and physiological characteristics of demand , based on the scale proposed design method and design principles , including user target segments , according to the needs of the target user function determines the basic structure and principles of design, basic shape design , determine the size and details of the characterization, color scheme and overall evaluation, review and correction design steps ; design principles are five points : the elderly -centered design principles , operational tasks to simplify the design principles to enhance feedback design principles. Finally, the elderly mobile phone design examples demonstrate scale design methods and principles.
