Abstract


Photonic crystal fiber since its inception has been the rapid development based on its excellent optical properties different from the ordinary optical fiber and structural diversity , making it especially in the field of optics has been more widely used in the laser field . Recently reported a photonic crystal fiber applied to compressed laser pulse and supercontinuum experiments , has been widespread concern . However , due to the special structure of the photonic crystal fiber , its damage threshold than conventional optical fiber to be much lower , the two experiments described above , is incident on the fiber end face of the photonic crystal laser having a high power , it is easy broke fiber , so this thesis focuses on the problem of a photonic crystal fiber and single-mode optical fiber fusion experiments . Experiments using traditional fiber splicing machines , optical fiber is aligned manually through the light source and power meter , and by a large number of experiments to select the appropriate welding parameters , the different types of four photonic crystal fiber with the ordinary single-mode optical fiber splice . Summarizes the various welding parameters on the fiber splice loss , and for different types of photonic crystal fiber splice should pay attention to the problem and take the method ; systematic research both lowland the air fill rate and high air-filling fraction photonic crystal fiber the collapse of the cladding layer of air holes in the weld , and explains the reason. Proposed another solution - fiber polishing photonic crystal fiber air hole low damage threshold . Experiment, the one end of the photonic crystal fiber is completely collapsed , and then bonded with glue with SMA connectors , after curing is placed on the fiber polishing machine for grinding , and ultimately in the optical fiber end face to form a thin layer of subsidence area , so that the optical fiber can be increased substantially the damage threshold . Fused good photonic crystal fiber and single mode fiber is used to produce a continuous experiment to obtain a stable continuous spectral output , and the optical power with respect to not welded to , verify the feasibility of the experimental . Experiments will be ground photonic crystal fiber used to produce ultra- continuous , stable output spectrum of a higher power .
