Objective To evaluate the diagnostic significance and clinical value of high-frequency ultrasound and mammography examination in the lesions of breast microcalcifications. Methods Shandong Provincial Hospital by surgery or organization to learn the puncture the breast microcalcifications lesions pathologically confirmed 117 cases, including 45 cases of benign lesions, 72 cases of malignant lesions. The checks were not done before the biopsy, physical therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, one week before surgery were confirmed by high-frequency ultrasound and mammography photographic examination and confirmed by mammography were microcalcifications display. High-frequency ultrasound the use HDI5000 color Doppler ultrasound instrument, linear array probe, the probe frequency of 7-12Hz, check the patient supine, a comprehensive examination of bilateral breast lesions its multi-slice, multi-angle scanning, due to lower gain conditions, multi-angle side of the probe by microcalcifications to display. And record the size of the lesion, edge, shape, internal echo, the ratio of the mass aspect by, the rear attenuation and blood flow, and its comprehensive analysis of whether the lesion benign and malignant. Mammography by GE cameras of all-digital flat-panel mammography, conventional take axial and double oblique, plus according lateral and spot film. Observed the shape and location of the breast lesions, edge signs and record microcalcifications in the breast position, size, shape, and distribution type and its comprehensive analysis to determine the benign or malignant. Statistical methods of data processing applications SPSS 13.0 software package, count data with x to test, p <0.05 for the difference was statistically significant. Results The the breast microcalcifications high-frequency ultrasound detection rate of 66.7%, malignant breast lesions microcalcifications high-frequency ultrasound detection rate of 87.5%, 33.3% of benign breast lesions microcalcifications detection rate of high-frequency ultrasound ( P <0.05). High-frequency ultrasound, mammography for breast microcalcifications lesions sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, false negative, false positive, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 68.7%, 86.7%, 75.6%, 10.7%, 43.1%, 69.4%, 86.7%; 75.0%, 80.0%, 74.3%, 21.4%, 35.3%, 75.0%, 73.3%, a combination of both in the diagnosis of breast microcalcifications lesions, the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, false negative , false positive, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of 89.6%, 90.0%, 92.3%, 5.8%, 14.6%, 90.2%, 91.1%. Mammography on breast associated with microcalcifications disease diagnosis with high sensitivity, high-frequency ultrasound with high specificity. A combination of both can improve the diagnostic accuracy of breast microcalcifications (x ~ 2 7.07,8.07, P <0.05). Conclusion The high-frequency ultrasound detection of breast microcalcifications has certain advantages, especially for malignant lesions microcalcifications. High-frequency ultrasound can be displayed the breast microcalcifications disease characteristics, the morphology of the lesion boundary, echo within the rear echo with or without attenuation and blood flow display. (2) high-frequency ultrasound imaging and mammography accuracy of the diagnosis of breast disease similar to diagnosis with high specificity and high-frequency ultrasound, mammography has a high sensitivity, the image of are both breast disease method of ideal inspected. (3) high-frequency ultrasound and mammography combined with high accuracy diagnosis of breast microcalcifications lesions in the two methods used alone, both methods can play a complementary role in the examination of breast disease.
