Skin Rejuvenation with Q-switched 1064-nm and 532-nm Nd: YAG Laser: A Comparative Study on Rat Model

Abstract


Objective: To compare Q-switched 1064 - nmNd : YAG laser and Q-switched 532 - nmNd : YAG laser irradiation on rat skin , and to explore the mechanism of action of the non-ablative skin rejuvenation laser to provide a reference for clinical practice . Methods: 18 rats as an animal model , were randomly divided into 2 groups , n = 9 , respectively, using the Q-switched 1064 - nm Nd : YAG laser and Q-switched 532 - nm Nd : YAG laser ( 5 ns pulse width are ) of three different energy density of the skin in the back of rats after depilation irradiation, irradiated with a total of 4 times , each time interval of one day , the spot with 10% overlap . Dynamic observations skin elasticity and skin moisture changes in the test late light microscope to observe changes in the thickness of the dermal layer of skin on the back of rats , determination of local skin hydroxyproline content and antioxidant indexes change (SOD, MDA and GSH) situation . Results : Last irradiation after 4 weeks the the Q switch 1064 - nmNd : YAG laser group ( hereinafter referred to as the 1064 nm ) and Q-switched 532-nmNd: YAG laser group ( hereinafter referred to as the 532-nm ) rats in each experimental side skin elasticity and moisture content are significantly better than the control side ; 1064- nm group and 532-nm experimental side skin hydroxyproline content and dermal collagen thickness increased significantly compared with the control group ( P <0.05 ) , of which 1064 - nm group three different energy density : 0.6 J / cm ~ 2,1.5 J / cm 2, 2.5 J / cm ~~ laser skin hydroxyproline content area growth rate of 7.1% , 13.1% and 19.8% increase in dermal thickness was 15.5% , 29.7% and 38.4% ,532-nm group three different energy density : 0.5 J / cm ~ 2,1.2 J / cm ~ 2,2.0 J / cm ~~ 2 laser hydroxyproline content of the irradiated skin area growth rate of 6.9% , 9.6% and 14.2 % , increase in dermal thickness was 5.5% , 15.1% and 29.9% , respectively , compared with 1064-nm group hydroxyproline and a higher rate of increase in dermal thickness ; the antioxidant indicators show that the antioxidant capacity of the two groups of rats with experimental side skin increase was younger change . Conclusion: the two laser has certain non-ablative skin rejuvenation role , but comparatively speaking , Q switch 1064-nmNd: YAG laser can obtain more Q-switched 532 - nm Nd : YAG laser is more obvious use of effects .
