Abstract

Objective: to study of maternal separation stress on juvenile rats learning and memory ability, hormone levels and NMDA receptor in hippocampus subunits NR1 expression level of influence. Method: divides into the pups stress group and normal control group, stress group were born after the second day, namely separation of 3 hours a day with my mom, separation for 21 days, and the control group not to deal with. 6 weeks after the Morris water maze test their learning and memory ability, enzyme-linked immunoassay detection in the serum norepinephrine (NE) and serotonin (5 - HT) and corticosterone concentration, immunohistochemical staining showed that the expression of NR1 hippocampus. Results: the stress group rats significantly impaired the ability of learning and memory (P lt; 0.05); In serum increased concentrations of norepinephrine and corticosterone (P lt; 0.05), serotonin concentrations have no difference (P gt; 0.05); Increase in the number of hippocampal NMDA receptor subunits NR1 expression (P lt; 0.05). Conclusion: early maternal separation as psychological stress damaged juvenile rats learning and memory ability; Hormone levels in change, changes in the expression of NMDA receptors can be one of the mechanisms that affect learning and memory.
